Between the concept of personal identity and what makes life, there is an interesting topic binary to explore that transcends in any realm of discussion or discipline. In order to look at this topic I shall use three fields interchangeably to extract in essence, what intelligence is (via biology, physics and philosophy), what it means to be conscience and what makes human beings stand out from any other organisms we’ve yet to encounter. I’ll also talk about the interesting idea put out by Elon Musk that we are just simulations of an Alien Mind. (we’re not, we live in a version of the matrix, but that’s not important to this article)

Let’s first understand what it means to live. life is the sustained energy within an organic organism (as far as we currently know, don’t be a nitpicker), ultimately the organism maintains its energy through consuming other forms of energy (food) and expelling waste products. Life needs energy to literally hold its self together, converting food into energy in which cells use to operate and molecules use to bind together through electromagnetic fields. All life experiences entropy, the steady decline which ultimately concludes with energy depletion and death of the organism. Now this is a basic concept that applies to all living things, it’s interesting to understand what sets humans apart as learning animals.

When I say learning animal, I’m distinguishing humans from other animals only by the complexity in which we perceive and interact with the known universe. Our ability to learn and accumulate knowledge socially, is much like how our individual brains work. Instead of just base routines of instinct, humans have the added rationality of complex problem solving. yet at the end of the day we only perceive a singular configuration of the universe and use our previous knowledge of experience to configure alternative possibilities i.e., our imaginations, this is the exceptional quality of true intelligence and what differentiates human experience from other animals that focus on merely their survival and reproduction.

From what we know of neuroscience, the brain is still quite a mystery. it’s made up of interconnected regions that have unique functions, outputs and inputs working together to make an inanimate hunk of gray matter, control what we perceive to be yourself: a living being, able to learn, communicate, build and develop intricate thoughts and complex emotions.

We already know what makes reality, real and perceivable: The Fibonacci Sequence. The numeric pattern that encompasses the golden spiral, underwrites the fabric of our universe, through the sequence of increase and symmetry. Now saying that is one thing, the practical applications of the concept is far more complex. Let’s first start with the idea of time, we perceive as time it is linear, but time it’s self is only perceived as linear with the most stable attributes of our world being observed and repeatable to establish the notion of truth, series, progression or consistency within the paradigm of human cognitive perception reinforced through empirical measures defined and design by the context of our species. This is the basic framework of cause and effect. But linear time is the simulation, it is the deception that creates this idea that things are random or coincidences. Often the idea of singular timeline and the multiplex is unified by string theory; from the big bang that started our current observable universe: when it was a simple pin prick, to the size of a grapefruit, to the vast replication and expansion outwards to what we currently observe and reside within altered by the choices we make in our individual realities. Regardless of whether or not the universe collapses back inward, spreads so thin that it experiences heat death or a cool down is irrelevant. What matters is that humanity is at a point in which it can measure and observe the universe, which in itself presents an interesting thought about reality and the notion of base reality.

We may exist in a singular timeline, the universe is a plurality, a multiplex of diverging timelines unified by a subatomic fabric of particles. entangled particles can exist on this plane of observable space or in any other configurations of the multiplex, inter-multiplex nonlocality can exist not only on our configuration, but is undeniable until string theory is proven irrelevant. Time ceases to be linear and becomes a deeply folded array of possibility and data configurations with the only interchangeable “leaks” presently observable in our universe being singularities or black holes, which draw in matter, light and time but and releases energy in the form of Hawking radiation.

On a larger scale this makes it possible for particles in our timeline to be entangled with particles in any other configuration of an observable universe with time itself being the subjective measure that holds the multiverse together through the perception of an intelligent mind. This suggests that time is non-linear but rather circular and opens the possibility that the fields of energy in our minds are entangled with like configurations of energy in congruent mind configurations, regardless of the position in time and space. This doesn’t mean we as humans have some sort of telepathic powers, it suggests that our inner field of energy may simply be entangled to a similar mind-energy configuration of the universe or deep future, functioning on another timeline in time and space and perhaps when we die that energy funnels through to the like configurations. (whereas we may be the only species capable of creating a wormhole, our brain and our minds are the tool that ultimately would be capable of doing so) The only thing making this realm of reality unique, would be the observable quantum wave function in respect to this configuration of universe, and the random array of particles that should be observed simply are overlapped in deep folds of time and space.

This idea also means that on a universal scale, we could be experiencing quantum entanglement and nonlocality operating within an all-encompassing database while building the database with our choices and actions within “the system”. “The system” could realistically be like the future alien simulation suggested by Elon Musk. However, I would diverge in the notion that the simulation is being played by everyone or that everyone was a present first player and suggest that the average human conscience is simply an organic algorithm constructed by time and context of survival. Since genetic data is very much like complex code, the emerging idea of DNA based coding and editing will only grow at an exponential rate as we progress as a civilization, so too will the technology to recreate a universe outside the scale of the universe or multiplex is relative only inside the universe its self as a defined entity. This technology will only accelerate further as humans develop AI software and tools to conduct research and build humans of the future. DNA like any other matter is a configuration on the quantum level, meaning DNA it’s self could be entangled. we are never fully in one spot in time, we are a wave on a planet which itself is a wave.

At the base level of human context; culture, collective learning and the ability to translate thought into a transferable experience for another person, is constructed by the situation of communication exchange. It is a simply recognized and deconstructed pattern of symbols, translated into an oral pattern and vocabulary of a native tongue or, language, common and in most cases accessible to the majority / level of intelligent species. In the case of humans, learning animals, it is reinforced by written traditions and artistic variations and nuance, developed by the compounding amount of choices we made over the evolutionary scale of development. the basic linguistic palette is innate to species and in our case it is processed by bio-electric activity in a neural relay loop transferred though an open medium like air. The spiral of data plurality and exponential growth outward from the genesis of life in single celled organism, climaxing to the point of intelligent that could question its own existence. Much like the notion of the multiverse, this would imply that all humans have potentially critical choices in our lives, failing to make the correct choice leads us into alternative realities, away from base reality. kind of like a jigsaw puzzle of choices and interactions which develop who we are a people and who we are individually.

This brings us back to the notion of how our brains operate, they interpret and relay information from our physical and sensory surrounding and are made relevant with ingrained symbols and developed interpretations and responses. In any context of life, we are faced with decisions, if our decisions are important, they move something in our system. You move a rock and put it somewhere, someone finds it later in another context. You say something or a specific word, someone interprets that thought and even if they don’t believe or comprehend the words, you’ve hacked or imprinted a pattern in the algorithm that is another human’s conscience, and superimposed an idea into another system observing the larger system that we all as humans perceive as a singular timeline, in a singular universe progressed by time. this is a type of linguistic resonance, because words are symbols, innate to the context of human cognition. They replicate and develop their meaning as we experience them in the context of our lives; as we see the object or observe/ experience the phenomena that inspire them, we internalize and develop our individual meaning based on the unique experiences that created our perception.

If this is happening on a scale larger than the multiplex, then the multiplex is created by our individual choices, and that deep within the configuration there is a singular combination of choices made by individual actors that lead to a future alien civilization stimulating our reality. This can also mean that our conscience can be looped through time and space to a moment in which we are faced with a potentially critical choice. Creating an ideal combination across the database, much like running an ideal state simulation, or processing thoughts and sorting them. If our reality is an alien simulation played out on an exponentially powerful quantum computer (maybe our universe is actually a micro universe, operating like a motherboard with quantum transistors and resistors and the scale is only comparative to our idea of distance within the system) it would only require a couple well placed actors (or a random configuration of inputs and outputs to create a conscience algorithm with specific value to the overall simulation),every choice within “the system” could create a vacuum and resonance central to the creation of the alien civilization running the simulation. Failure to act by any one key actor could potentially erase the simulation, impede its ability to actuate the civilization that created the simulation in the first place, or make this singular reality shunted and vulnerable to the calamities avoided by the civilization running the simulation. But this doesn’t make the responsibility solely that of the key actors, people perceive and make choices within the system, failure to act by another actor in the way configures the simulation could also result in a suboptimal path in the simulation. If our minds are like algorithms then it may only require people to make choices that misalign with what their innate programming/life experience would suggest, thus transcending their base capabilities in the simulation. It’s like being random in singular choice, or picking yes or no in a situation or developing an insight to the choice to view farther down the path of choices all have a critical impact on the simulation itself, which would move to preserve itself much like we learn to preserve our bodies.

But why would this even be an idea? Because if you had a civilization capable of such things as creating and monitoring a multiplex, diverged by the freewill of intelligent life operating within the system, it would be would be the ultimate achievement of advancement while being a sentient being.

Another reason why this reality could be being in a system simulating its own origin, in order to create such a civilization, intelligent consciousness would have to reach an organic apex point, which could only occur within the context of a developing species, thus creating a loop or a singularity between the deep future and the present is only reached through the organic algorithm of our minds to create the overall system. An ordered system falling into disorder, and a conservation of actions for optimal survival of a system.

What does this all really mean from a traditional ideological standpoint? it means that if you’re religious, we create God. In our good actions, and our good deeds, we create an outward ripple of good. It also means the opposite, when we perpetuate hate, we only breed more of it. Much like the Native American Proverb “You Wolf You Feed is the Wolf that wins” in a self-correcting system governed by the choices we make, the choices that transcend our context and our organic algorithms are the choices that make the most substantial difference. In a simulation like the one I’ve proposed it means that the deep future we create, either good or bad, a heaven or a wasteland is because of our actions today, and that good and bad are like excess coding that skew the system towards one outcome over the other.

The key understanding from this idea to make life more worth living is how we interpret what we take in, if we are fixed to our programming it becomes hard to see through the actions of others, it’s harder to accept love, help and guidance because that’s not what we see coming, we see what we want to see and that is what makes life challenging. Challenging, but ultimately worth living to experience all that we can, so we grow together to an optimal outcome.
